Initiator from Bayer Environmental Science is the result of many years of trials and research in Australia, utilising the world class resources of Bayer with one goal in mind – to provide Australian foresters and tree specialists with a tool that gives seedlings unprecedented protection against insect attack and damage, as well as significantly enhancing tree growth and vitality in an easy to use, environmentally responsible form.

With a greater focus on environmental stewardship and occupational health and safety, and greater social pressure relating to pesticide use; traditional plantation establishment and maintenance procedures are now more heavily scrutinised than ever before.

It became evident during the early stages of development that certification requirements and growing social and political pressure meant that a novel approach was required. The Australian Forestry Industry was clearly in need of an advanced, yet practical, method of protecting seedling growth and survival, it would be a beneficial tool that should help maximise forestry investment returns.
